The Tea House was used by the Scholar to serve tea, dine and entertain his friends and guests. Food and beverages are a simple but very important part of Chinese culture. The Garden offers a Tea Shop where you can purchase traditional style Chinese teas and food in the form of steamed buns (both sweet and savoury) and dumplings.
You can eat these in our beautiful Tea House (heated in the colder months for your comfort) or at tables and chairs in the courtyards around the Garden.
At various times of the year, during festivals and other important events, we also offer food specific to the occasion - like Moon Cakes for the Moon Festival and Zongzi during the Dragon Boat Festival.
